Paradise!

Mauritius is one of the prettiest places we've been yet, though I don't know how much of a cultural experience I had in the 12 hours we visited. It was a quick stop, but well worth it! Mauritius is a little Island off the coast of Madagascar, but Indian people inhabit it. It was relatively similar to any other small beach town or island I've visited in terms of lifestyle and scenery. My favorite part of the day was early in the morning when we hiked to Tamarin Falls in the Jungle. It was beautiful! We got to go cliff jumping which was terrifying and if I ever do it again I will wear a one piece! lol. People on this trip are crazy and they were afraid of bacteria in the water so nobody would swim for more than a minute...I was loving life though. After we hiked and saw the waterfalls, we went to the beach to take it easy for the rest of the day. We went swimming and the entire Island is covered in coral reefs so we came home with a pretty serious collection. Apparently the food of the island is Chinese food... very interesting considering it's an African country populated with Indian people, what's more natural than to serve mostly chinese food? Anyways, it was actually really good. The weather was like 100% humidity and 100 degrees!!!! it was so hot hot hot! After the day we were happy to come home to the ship and have a volleyball tournament through the night!!
