Paris~ "THE CITY OF PRETTY"

Bonjour! So I've officially been here for one week, yay! I'm learning my way around and seeing EVERYTHING. I seriously cant even tell you how Everything is SO BEAUTIFUL! My friend from Parson's, Raeana, got here on Wednesday and we've been exploring and eating and making fun friends ever since...but mostly eating. crepes, gelato, crossants, espresso's, you name it, we had it. Anyways, this evening we spent time by Le Seine (and the answer is YES, the same river where Linguini almost killed Remi in Ratatouille). We've been wondering if people do the same stuff we do at home for fun, because the nightlife seems a bit less ummmm, exciting than in Manhattan. We went out on Friday, and had a fab time meeting people from about everywhere, but we weren't impressed...then just as we were walking by the river we noticed that all of the bridges were CRAZY and overflowing with tons of people picnicing and drinking Vino! It was so cute! Now I really feel French, Ha!
Ah yes, and as we were lost in the maze of streets that make up the Saint Germain area, we stumbled across the cutest store!!! It's called Antoine and Lili, I'd never heard of it before but I guess they are all over France. It was a little eclectic boutique that had lots of fun jewelry and super cute clothes! It reminded me a little bit of Free People but less trendy. MOM Speaking of clothing, I plan to visit the garment district and see how it compares to New York, crossing my fingerssss!
I'm picking up more and more French everyday and I'm also getting more and more excited about it, I really want to be able to speak the language, not only because I dont understand them but because it sounds so pretty....I can see me speaking french already! The only thing that shocked me is the not quite so HAUTE Fashion, it's compared to places like New York, Milan and London, which is obviously why I'm here, but surprisingly everyone mostly wears jeans and a cute top. I tried wearing my cutoff shorts the other day, and as it turns out those cutoffs were not so chic as i thought they were, for some reason (which I will find ASAP) nobody wears shorts or miniskirts. Hmmmm!
We've already met so many cool people! everyone is super friendly and fun which is a nice change from the big apple. Their lifestyle seems so layed back and happy...in other words, this is my kind of place!!! Paris' describing word is definately BEAUTIFUL, from the people to the architecture to the food. And IMPRESSED is my word of the day

Bonjour Paris!

DEPARTURE-2:33 P.M. Saturday August 23, from New York La Guardia Airport
ARRIVAL-7:55 A.M. Sunday August 24, to Paris Charles De Gaulle Airport

....I woke up to a chocolate crossant and a kiddie sized coffee??(the first of many) as I flew into Paris! I caught a cab and went to my hotel in St. Germain only to pass out for like 4 hours...the next few days I just hung out and ran around the city trying to figure it all out while I waited for Raeana to get here. EVERYTHING IS SOOOO PRETTY!!! Getting around is way easier than in NYC, maybe cuz the city's smaller? Who knows, but it's def more pleasant. The metro is super clean and easy to use, but almost everything is in walking distance so the metro isn't so so necessary. THE BIKES! Pretty soon here I am going to try to find a bike shop, where hopefully somebody will speak english, because everyone rides bikes and im jealous! I miss my Daisy!! I want to buy one because apparently you CANT rent one of the million bikes here without a european credit card...ha! of course. I LOVE it here! So my thoughts on cities being interchangable and as pops says, if you've seen one you've seen them all, is WRONG... I'm cheating on NYC and I like it!!
